Day of the Dead - Mini-Purse

Image
Hi there, today I want to share fun project.  I love, love to paint, seriously I can paint all day if I could.   I purchased this small wood purse at Michaels craft store.  I won this huge prize from Paid and decided to use some of their paints.  I didn't really know what this was going to look like, most of the time I don't have any ideas, I just start painting and let creativity take it's own course.  I used folk art Pickling Wash coral beauty and haze to paint the outside of the purse and for the handle I used their  brushed metal  in gold.  I like the pickling wash paints because it allows you to see the grain of the wood.  I thought at this point it would be a nice effect.   Here you can see the two different colors I used. Now let's get started with this fun Father's Day photo frame.  I used some jumbo craft sticks to create a fence and instead of painting it I decided ...

Hi there, Spring is here, even if it's still cold you can already see a few pretty flowers here and there.   I had this cute glass bottle, perfectly round so I decided to decorate it with flowers.  Below you can see how I transformed a recycled glass bottle into a pretty decorative piece. Lets start with the first product I used.  It's  Dip-n-etch liquid  from  Etchall.   I will share a little bit of information about this great product, but if you click on the link above you can get all the information needed about this and all their other products. Etchall® dip ‘n etch is a re-usable etching liquid with the consistency of water. Use by "dipping" glass objects to create an etched surface of the are submerged in this etching liquid.  You can etch the entire object or you can mask areas or designs by using  etchmask   stencils and  etchall® resist gel  to create beautiful designs.
