Hi there, today I want to share a project created for the monthly hop with Designer Craft Connection  it's a small photo album I created to carry a few family photos with me.  I had this little canvas book and decided to play with some paints and a new product for me.  I've never used a gel press plate.  I received one from  Gel Press  and I used it to create backgrounds for this little 4 1/2' X 7"photo album. This Gel Press plate is not "gelatin", this plate is super durable and reusable, it's easy to clean and you can use the package as storage when not in use. This plate is so easy to use, when you remove it from the package make sure to remove the clear film from the block before use. It can't get any easier, once the film is removed, you can begin to add your paint. Hi there, this is Maria and today I want to share a fun project I made using some of my favorite crafting supplies. I took two items I had at home, one is a wooden cat figure that has all these fun bright colors, and a tiny picture frame I received last year as part of a box of goodies my secrete Santa sent me. First I had to chose what products to work with; Amazing Mold Putty, Amazing Casting Resin, and Alumilite Flo orange dye. The Amazing Mold Putty comes in two containers part A (white) and part B (yellow) you take equal amounts of each and mix together until all you see is yellow, work  fast for this putty sets up pretty fast.  Once your putty is well mixed together you are ready to make your mold as seen in figure #1, it should only take between 10 to 12 minutes for the putty to set. #1 - mold making of the picture frame Here in figure #2, you can see your mold is ready for resin. I've always loved to paint, but stopped for many years and watching my daughter learn to draw and paint in her senior year in high school, got be back into painting.  I remember back in high school, I loved to paint in black and white and all the gray tones, no color for me, I remember my art teacher telling me to use color, and me refusing to, until I received a warning I would get an "F" if I kept using black and white only.   Well as I was forced to use color in my paintings, I discovered that there is more to just black and white, and that you can do more than just paint on canvas, I switched to ceramics, then to fabric, wood, metal, etc. for the past 25 years I have painted on just about anything and everything and have enjoyed it pretty much, using bright colors and yes still using my favorite combination of black and white.   I was going to do a portrait of my daughter, however I decided to continue with my attempt to get better at mixed media, which is to...
