My own jewelry - my own beads and someone else's Jeans.

I love making jewelry and try to always include some recycling into what I make.  Now I work with polymer clay, all different brands, too many to name them all. I've been making my own beads out of polymer clay and even these I've gone as far as coloring with different materials, yes materials not paints. I get to play around and see what happens when I'm done. So a friend of mine gave me a lot of jeans to recycle in my crafts.  I've done headbands, purses and now jewelry, here you can see two bracelets, a cuff and some rings I made using denim from the jeans, beads that I made out of polymer clay, some glass beads and metal charms I had, I believe I used fabric fusion for the cuff and the rings.  I hope you like these, I know I love wearing them and even more, I love all the comments I get. Braided recycled denim bracelet with silver and black chain and my own polymer clay beads These are  beads I made using Sculpey UltraLight Clay, and used threads from...

Crocheting around, my way!

Image
I just wanted to go back a little and show some of the works I have done in the past and where I'm at today.  Now I love working with different mediums.  I've seen some amazing works on blogs, on-line and even on FB that inspire me to go in a totally new direction to what I'm used to making, this is going to take some time, because it is not easy for me step outside the line and say it's ok, there are no lines, no rules, just let it all be what it wants to be. I do some crocheting, I have in the past made the scarfs, hats, even sweaters, but I'm not there anymore, don't get me wrong, I love these- I've seen some amazingly creative crocheting on-line, but I just want to make jewelry with it - so here are a few items I've done using a crochet hook and yarn. If you start from the top left - I used two types of yarn, yet you only see the green -  this is a really pretty bracelet and  the best part is that the beads are small and light so when you wear...

Decoupage Rose Fabric Pen

Image
I like to decoupage- so I try it on everything from wood to plastic to glass to just abut anything.  I made a pen for my sister it was covered with fabric - it was white with flowers outlined in black so I gave it color by using glitter mist - not sure the name but it looked like a pretty rose color, then I used Martha's new glitter paint - Well below you will see the steps and a brief description of how I did my sister's pen which is just like the one in this post. Now I could type the material names but figure the photo would be better, not shown on this photo is the heat gun  I used to dry the fabric faster after the  paint and modge podge was used So here is the piece of fabric all ready - used the glitter mist, the glitter paint and the heat gun to dry it up fast.  Here you can see I covered the pen with lots of fabric mod podge I did add some to the fabric too, and  after I rolled the pen on the fabric - I  cut the left over fabric off...
