What??? It's made out of Duck Tape!!!!

So last month I went to the Chicago Craft Social and took a class with Marissa Pawelko also know as the Modern Surrealist she showed us how to make purses out of duck tape.  Well it was so much fun, I had my daughter Nicole with me at this event - she's my crafty buddy!!! she took the class first and was so very proud of what she made so I had to take it too.  She came back and joined us because she wanted to make another one, so really once you start having fun crating with duck tape, the possibilities are endless, and you become addicted.  I know we are.  I am showing you pictures of the purse I made, and all the headbands, and hair clips showing flowers.  See I love making flowers of anything I can think of, and when I realized that I could make flowers with this tape, well it's been something I've been working since this Social.  Hope you enjoy these, I was asked to make a video, I have to see if I can do it.  Really if you make flowers out of fabric, ribbon, paper, you can make them out of tape too.

THIS IS A PRETTY BIG SILVER FLOWER - MUCH BIGGER THAN ALL MY OTHER FLOWERS IS  SET ON TOP OF A PEN - "SILVER FLOWER PEN"

THIS IS MY FIRST TRY AT MAKING A COVER FOR MY IPOD, WILL BE MAKING A NEW ONE, I DON'T LIKE THE EDGES ON THIS ONE.

Working on making new flowers by adding wire to the petals and thinking about what else I want to try and make with DUCK TAPE!!!

    These are lovely, Maria! Would you consider submitting them to the Cool2Craft Creative Play Theme this month? The theme is "What's Your Cup of Tea?" and it certainly looks as though these are your cup of tea! They are wonderful!

Thanks to a post a friend shared on Face Book, I took a string of lights that sparked on me when I was trying to use them outside, so I took off all the bulbs and the spare ones too and decided to turn them into ornaments, I thought about making jewelry too but the ornament idea won.  All I did was paint them over using Viva Decor's precious metal paints in gold and silver, to most of the bulbs. As you can see on the photos below, l used Viva Decor's precious metal paints in gold and silver to paint the most of the orange light bulbs, to some I just added some glitter by using Viva's glitter liner pens in copper, gold and fuchsia colors.  I did use some distress glitter in red and green from Ranger.    Once dried, I added wire hangers to all the light bulbs, added some gold snowflake wired garland to the neck of the bulbs and I did go over all the bulbs with more glitter and paints to add designs and patterns adding interest and dimension.

Handmade Holiday Ornament Swap with Charity Wings

I joined a handmade holiday ornament swap! we are supposed to make two ornaments - one to swap and one to donate to the Charity Wings auction tree. Once we signed up for this swap we were assigned a partner, my partner asked I sent her both ornaments since she volunteers at Charity Wings.  I made three ornaments, one was glass, so just in case something went wrong there will still be two ornaments left, one for my partner and one for Charity Wings. All the ornaments sent to Charity Wings will  decorate a tree to be displayed in the Art Center for a week or two, afterwards in early December they will auction off the whole tree to raise funds for all their worthy causes! Here are the ornaments I made:   a glass ornament covered with polymer clay in different colors and added some glitter by using Viva Decor glitter liners  This ornament is made of  SCULPEY® ULTRALIGHT™ , added a template to the clay by using  TRANSLUCENT LIQUID   SCULPEY .   I used several Viva

This is my card for this week.   My last card I used rub-ons, this time I decided to go with stamps.  I got some new paints at CHA last week and decided to give them a try along with a couple of markers.  let me know what you think.  Now my camera works, but my cable doesn't so I had to use my son's camera and well the photos are not very good, but if I can borrow a camera at work later on, I will try and replace them, for now I hope these photos are clear enough.  I really liked this card, and I think I'm going to try stamping a little bit more in the future.  Well thank you for stopping
