Paint, paint, paint!!!

So it's been a while since I post a project, I got sick as soon as the new year started and I just got better.  I spent so much time at home and thought about crafting, but the bug that got me sick, was too much for me that I just couldn't get in a creative mood, so now that I started back it seems I don't want to stop.

I have mention on several posts how much I love using +Viva Decor  products and I have been spending a lot of time on-line looking for as many as I can and I have found some.  I just got my hands on their Crystal gel, glass effect paint pens, paper color soft, 3D stamp inks, and more inka golds, oh and some wax pens.  I still need to find some more, but until then I will keep busy crafting away with what I have right now.

To start let me show you some of the chip board Christmas ornaments I got after the holidays, these are small and are all painted and just waiting for a ribbon to be added so they become part of Christmas cards for 2013.

Thanks to a post a friend shared on Face Book, I took a string of lights that sparked on me when I was trying to use them outside, so I took off all the bulbs and the spare ones too and decided to turn them into ornaments, I thought about making jewelry too but the ornament idea won.  All I did was paint them over using Viva Decor's precious metal paints in gold and silver, to most of the bulbs. As you can see on the photos below, l used Viva Decor's precious metal paints in gold and silver to paint the most of the orange light bulbs, to some I just added some glitter by using Viva's glitter liner pens in copper, gold and fuchsia colors.  I did use some distress glitter in red and green from Ranger.    Once dried, I added wire hangers to all the light bulbs, added some gold snowflake wired garland to the neck of the bulbs and I did go over all the bulbs with more glitter and paints to add designs and patterns adding interest and dimension.

Handmade Holiday Ornament Swap with Charity Wings

I joined a handmade holiday ornament swap! we are supposed to make two ornaments - one to swap and one to donate to the Charity Wings auction tree. Once we signed up for this swap we were assigned a partner, my partner asked I sent her both ornaments since she volunteers at Charity Wings.  I made three ornaments, one was glass, so just in case something went wrong there will still be two ornaments left, one for my partner and one for Charity Wings. All the ornaments sent to Charity Wings will  decorate a tree to be displayed in the Art Center for a week or two, afterwards in early December they will auction off the whole tree to raise funds for all their worthy causes! Here are the ornaments I made:   a glass ornament covered with polymer clay in different colors and added some glitter by using Viva Decor glitter liners  This ornament is made of  SCULPEY® ULTRALIGHT™ , added a template to the clay by using  TRANSLUCENT LIQUID   SCULPEY .   I used several Viva

This is my card for this week.   My last card I used rub-ons, this time I decided to go with stamps.  I got some new paints at CHA last week and decided to give them a try along with a couple of markers.  let me know what you think.  Now my camera works, but my cable doesn't so I had to use my son's camera and well the photos are not very good, but if I can borrow a camera at work later on, I will try and replace them, for now I hope these photos are clear enough.  I really liked this card, and I think I'm going to try stamping a little bit more in the future.  Well thank you for stopping
